How Much Exercise?
When you first bring your puppy home, it is important to know that, just like a baby, he will need to sleep much of the day. So, keep exercise and playtime brief and give plenty of "nap times".
The general rule shared by many is to limit your puppy's exercise according to her age - 5 minutes per day for every month of her age. So, if she is 2 months old, limit her to 10 minutes of exercise per day in theory. Remember, your puppy is like a baby, so be cautious of the kind of exercise she does in her younger months. Try to keep her running, chasing, and retrieving activities to soft ground and if there are other dogs in the household, be sure to supervise any playtime so that you can intervene if things get too rough!
